Vilardematos Stone Cross Cruceiro

  • Forcadela, Vilardematos, 17th-18th centuries.
  • Coordinates:41.970982, -8.751678
It is located beside the road, in Vilardematos, in the parish of Forcadela. It stands on a square step supporting a poorly executed truncated pyramidal base, with a heavily eroded engraved text where only the word “JESUS” can still be read. The shaft is plain and cylindrical, but on the lower part it is square with decorative mouldings. The spherical capital is adorned with small angel heads, supporting a square-section cross. It is made of granite and shows wear due to the passage of time.
