Parish Church of Barrantes Stone Cross Cruceiro

  • Barrantes, Parish Church, 1710
  • Coordinates:42.01512, -8.76312
Located to the right of the parish church on a small landscaped area. It contains two steps working as a support for a cubic base with chamfered upper edges. Each of its sides features heavily deteriorated inscriptions, though on the left side, we can read “ANOD 1710”. The shaft starts with a rectangular section that becomes plain and cylindrical, interrupted only by a figure of San Lourenzo projecting at mid-height. The capital, decorated with plant motifs, supports a cross depicting the Pietà on one side and the Crucified Christ on the other.
