O Porto Watermills Conxunto de muíños e fonte

  • Vilameán, O Castro, 18th-19th centuries.
  • Coordinates:42.02757, -8.74486
It was originally integrated by eight mills along the Picoto stream, five of which were restored in 2010 (O Muíño Pequeno, O de Abaixo, O do Medio, O da Viña e O Muíño de Amadeo) by the Vilameán Neighborhood Association. They were built on the 19th century. On the same area, a stone fountain is preserved dated in the 18th century. They feature a rectangular plan and are built from rubblework and irregular ashlar stones, more carefully worked on the corners and the doorways. All of them have a single inferno and single-pitched roofs covered with local tiles. Some of these still preserve the loading bench by the door, as well as the the millstone and the stone base.
