Church of Santiago Stone Cross Cruceiro

  • Estás, Churchyard of the Church of Santiago, Probably, 18th century.
  • Coordinates:41.975615, -8.761233
It is currently located in the churchyard of the parish church of Santiago de Estás. However, it was originally a few meters away from the church, outside the wall, but was relocated to keep it more protected. It features three quadrangular steps supporting a prismatic base with chamfered edges. The figures of Santiago de Matamouros and San Francisco, stand out from the fluted shaft. It is topped by a composite capital that serves as a support for a cross that depicts the image of the Pietà on one side, and the Crucified Christ on the other. There are no visible marks or inscriptions.
