A Soidade Stone Cross Cruceiro

  • Goián, Tollo, 1651
  • Coordinates:41.94369, -8.77472
It is located in Tollo Neighbourhod. This Stone Cross originally consisted of two steps, though one of them is currently at ground level. It features a quadrangular base with chamfered upper edges, which have an engraved inscription, a bit deteriorated due to the passage of time. On each one of its sides it is possible to read: «ESTECRUCERO/MANDACERLO(upper)ALONSOANO1651(lower)/FERNANDSISV/ MUGER». The shaft has an octagonal section and displays the figure of Saint Francis on one of its sides. It features a capital decorated with plant motifs. A square piece of iron is held on top of this, as a result of a subsequent restoration, which leads to a fluted cross displaying the Crucified Christ beneath a cartouche on one side and the Pietà on the other.
