A Ponte Neighbourhood Watermill and Bridge Muíño e ponte

  • Forcadela, A Ponte Neighbourhood., 15TH-19TH centuries.
  • Coordinates:41.984818, -8.719144
This ensemble consisting of a medieval bridge and a watermill has a high ethnographic value and is located in A Ponte Neighbourhood. The bridge, supported by a semicircular arch, is built with irregular ashlar stone, more carefully worked on the underside. It spans the final stretch of the Cereixo da Briña river, on the old road from Tui to A Guarda and was constructed between the 15th and 16th centuries. The watermill features a rectangular plan constructed with rubble and irregular ashlar stone, more carefully executed at the corners and around the doorway and windows. It has three infernos and its fsupports and millstones are still preserved on the inside.
