A Cruz Souls' Alms Box Esmoleiro

  • Goián, A Cruz Neighbourhood. Soutelo, 1815
  • Coordinates:41.954750, -8.781693
It features a chapel with a semicircular arched niche housing an image of the Virgin of Los Remedios (which is not the original one). On its front part, it has engraved and highlighted in black the date: “AÑO 1815”. On the left side, there is another inscription, which is currently very deteriorated and that seems to say: “ADVOZN/DJUAN/ANTº Mº/VSMM» according to the Asociación de Veciños da Aurora magazine that states that when it was published the inscription was still legible. On its upper part it has a curved moulding on which rests a cross. The chapel stands on a quadrangular stone embedded into the wall. It is located in A Cruz Neighbourhood, from which it gets its name. It was relocated from its original location due to the widening of the road.
